Avast causing Task Host Window to freeze
« on: November 19, 2017, 11:48:37 AM »
My problems started after updating Windows 10 Pro to version 1709.

When I restart or start my computer, the start menu won't open unless I log off and log in again.
When I log of I get this message:
Quote
Task host window
Task kost is stopping background tasks. (\Microsoft\Windows\Plug and Play\Device install reboot required)

If I uninstall Avast, my issue is gone.
Tried installing again and the issue comes back.
Till now I've tried: Avast uninstal util, CCleaner to clean registry after removing Avast, Manualy cleaning registry after removing Avast.
None of this this options fixed my issue.

Could anyone help me further with my issue?

It took me about 8-12 hours to fix this.
I was near complete reinstall od W10.

Because this issue appeared only after 1st start, I've turned of a Windows feature and my problem was gone:

This is it. Hope it helps someone.

Just to clarify, The issue was a Microsoft problem not an Avast issue.
Glad you found and fixed the problem. :)
