Shutdown error
« on: December 27, 2003, 09:36:45 AM »
When shutting down windows, I have lately the problem of an illegal instruction error in Avast!
It is not blocking, the computer shuts down anyway, but does anyone have the same problem?

I will try to get more information as it occurs, but I have to be fast.

Is there any other information? For instance, in Windows Events (Administrative Tools) or in avast! Log Viewer? Which is your OS and avast! version?

Well, I see an event that the messenger service has stopped due an error 2119.

That's all I can see really.

OS=Win2K
Avast!=4.1.319
log=empty (only old msg)

I'll post more information if I have....

Let's wait for the 'next' error. I cannot see anything wrong with your system right now. I do not use the resident for MSN because I do not use MSN at all (if you were talking about this when you said 'messenger service'...).

Well, don't bother too much, I don't think its harmfull.
After all the computer still shuts down, is does not wait for the application to close.

With messenger service I meant the NT messenger service, not MSN.

I cannot reproduce it, the happens every now and then.

If I see the error again I will try to write it down.
