-Maybe it arraived on your computer before avast had signature for it?It arrived last night about two hours before a manual scan detected it, so it's unlikely Avast did not have a signature for it given that this malware is about a year old.-Maybe it is a falsepositive? It does not belong on my computer, or any other computer, so it's not a false positive. Anyway "Serhox" is AdwareCurrent antivirus software is supposed to be able to handle all forms of malware, including adware. The need to have additional antimalware software, such as antispyware, came to an end about ten years ago. If you want help, see sticky post at top in Viruses and Worms sectionI just want the Avast software to do what I thought it was supposed to do: block malware. I could understand a blocking failure if this was fresh malware, but it's a year old.
If Avast can detect this malware, why does it allow it on my computer in the first place. Why not just block it?
It does not belong on my computer, or any other computer, so it's not a false positive.
