AOL AIM 6.0.28.3 Upgrade Virus Detected
« on: December 21, 2006, 02:58:07 AM »
I was trying to download and install the latest release of AIM  - 6.0.28.3 and avast! detected an occurance of the malware trojan - AGENT-DTW.  I deleted it, but AIM would not then install as it indicated a file was missing.

Anyone else come across this issue?  Has anyone sucessfully gotten around it?

I posted a note in the AIM boards and was told this was a false positive.

Welcome to the forum tastevic.

I don't know if your detection is a false positive or not but AIM is known for adware/spyware and causing endless problems.  You could try AIMLite instead  - it can be downloaded here

But please note that some users are reporting conflicts with Zone Alarm.
