Scheduling Virus Update In "HOME"
« on: October 20, 2006, 02:28:41 PM »
Hello,

I recently Set-Up a Scheduled Virus Scan in the Free Home Version using Instructions given in another Post, everything worked fine; the instructions were perfect.

I would now like to Set-Up a Scheduled Virus DataBase Update to execute a few minutes before the Scheduled Scan.  This would ensure that the Scan was using the most current Virus Information.

Am I attempting something completely wrong ..... or Is this possible, and if so what program would I use in the Task Scheduler to execute the D/B Update.  Example for the Scheduled Scan I use :AshQuick.Exe"

If you have the file ashUpd.exe in your installation folder (I must say I'm not sure if it's present in the Home version as well), you can use this one. Use e.g. the /help parameter (in a console) to see the possible options.

It's only present in the Professional version.
