 yeah...I've got a huge memory leak with Chrome 7 since yesterday ::) eating sometimes more than a GB of RAM with one tab opened :o it doesn't seem to be a matter of how many tabs are opened at the same time, but how long Chrome's been running, that's awfull ...my overall RAM counter shows up to 3.2 GB in use, never saw that before...

 I got no idea how to troubleshoot that, other than stop using Chrome until the next update. There's been already a huge bug with lastpass (solved now, bug was on Google's side), and now this, a browser using between 600 MB and 1.2 GB of RAM ::)

...just in case someone else here would be experiencing the same issue...I already know that some people running the same Chrome build don't have this problem.

okay this thread can be closed, Chrome wasn't the culprit, but Avast 5.0.661 ;D
