Can anyone refer me to a link or other instructions for removal of hidden API files?
My recent virus problem appears to have included a rootkit, as determined by the presence of at least 28 hidden files located in an archives directory on my hard drive. My other PC, which contains the same archives folders, does not include these 28 hidden files. Moreover, the added subdirectories are in German, not English. None of the programs I have run have, except for RKR, seen the hidden files. The files have not been identified, except as various sized small *.exe and *.jpg files.
