CPU resources
« on: March 20, 2007, 10:31:40 AM »
I have been using avast home over the last 18 months and find it very good until the last week or so. When booting into win XP Home it takes around 7 minutes to complete the boot sequence. Looking in task manager  avast process is using 90% of cpu resources as soon as I kill the process, cpu usage settles down and everything is fine. I have un-installed avast to fix the problem but would like to go back to using avast. Has anyone else had the same problem?

I see no other way to know unless you install avast again and test...
Maybe something get corrupt into your old installation and a new one corrects it...
Did you use any other security program that could interfere?
Any firewall?
