Problem with browsing when installed Avast
« on: March 26, 2007, 07:41:20 AM »
I have just downloaded the Avast 4.x Home edition. If i enable the Resident Protection, I can't browse any website at all. I can only connect to MSN Messenger. If i disable the Resident Protection, then i can browse website normally. Can anyone tell me what to do to solve this?

Thanks!

You didn't mention what your firewall is ?
Or if it allows ashWebSv.exe internet access ?
What errors are you getting ?

Are you disabling avast completely or just the Web Shield provider, which should be all that is required ?
