Two new e-mail threats that affect only Windows-platform PCs began to spread last week. The first and most serious, Bagle.b, is the second variation of the Bagle virus first seen in January 2004. What makes this virus dangerous is that it opens a back door, allowing the virus's author to control infected PCs. The second threat is Netsky.b, a variation of an existing e-mail threat. Netsky.b does not open a back door for remote access, but it is spreading quickly, and it could be just as annoying (by slowing down your legitimate e-mail traffic) as Bagle.b.
