Problem with Smartphone Internet Access Point
« on: October 12, 2023, 11:19:28 AM »
Hi there everyone.
Hope you can help me.

I use a Smartphone XIAOMI REDMI 12 as Internet Access Point (this is, as if it was a router) for using its data on the computer.

The problem is that every time I connect, the AVAST I have installed in my computer detects it as a new net (it keeps adding a consecutive number; see image). This implies many problems. For instance, when login in any websibe (Gmail, Yahoo, Wallapop, etc.) it always asks to double confirm my identity (because they detect it is a new net).

¿How can I solve this issue and make AVAST recognize my net as always the same net (that it is)?

Many thanks.

(If this message has to be deleted for some reason I would appreciate some explanation by the forum admins).

Just wanted to reach both English and Spanish speaking users, but fair enough.

Any idea as to how to solve my problem?

Also, is there any technical support AVAST email where I can submit my query?

Many thanks.

Every time I connect and a "new" network comes up I manually set it to "Trusted", which I understand is the same as "Private".

In the image, you can see the "house" symbol, meaning "Private".
Also, under the net name (Redmi 12 #) it says "Red de confianza", which means "Trusted network".
