Smart scan's BUG ??? (may be)
« on: July 14, 2024, 06:32:42 AM »
Hi,

I just installed Avast Free Antivirus (offline) latest version 24.6 on my new Windows 11 laptop (Windows 11 Home 64-bit, version 23H2), and when I run Smart scan, it found 1 issue in my system settings and gives me the error message:
"Malware or other threats could be running in your PC memory"
and suggests that I'd turn on Data Execution Prevention to detect malicious codes.

I checked the setting for "Data Execution Prevention (DEP)" in Windows Security -> App & browser control -> Exploit protection settings -> System settings and it is currently set to the default setting which is ON ("Use default (On)"). Anyway, I manually set it to ON ("On by default"), restart my laptop (whick is required for the change) and run Avast Smart scan again and still got the same error message.

I don't know if this is a BUG in Avast Smart scan or NOT. Anyway, just thought that I report this.

Thank you.
