Why is utorrent unchecked by default?

Because i was wondering why the p2p scanner hasent scanned anything. Will it slow down my torrents?

It is because of the way it works, it breaks the download into hundreds if not thousands of little files, which it saves and when the download is complete cobbles them all together in the one file. This creation of multiple files cause avast to scan the created files and this depending on your system can have a performance impact.

You're welcome.

If you use utorrent, you can always enable it and see if there is any performance impact on your system.

No thanks, I'll just make it a habit to scan my torrent folder after a download, no big deal.
