on-access scanner message

I'm a new user and the avast! on-access scanner message keeps updating at the bottom of the screen and is very irritating. I have tried many different options to shut it off but to no avail.
Any suggestions. My version is Home 4.8

Well, if I would have done a search before creating this thread, I would have found the answer. I stopped the display and thank those who asked the same question many moons ago.
Issue resolved.
