Access Scanner finds Win32:Zmist in SBRUN.EXE
« on: July 24, 2008, 11:09:09 PM »
I'm running ShadowProtect backup and just started getting a virus warning when the scheduled time runs. Says this file is infected. I was browsingthe storagecraft forums and found this thread: http://forum.storagecraft.com/Community/forums/p/232/2835.aspx
in which I downloaded a new version of the file.... it also says it is infected.

Is this a VPS problem?

Hi...

It might be a false positive. Try submitting the file here and see what comes up...

If you get any hits, please include a link on your next post. :)

send the file to virus[at]avast[dot]com in a password protected archive and don't forget to mention the password in message body.. ;)

Thanks for the link! Only Avast had a hit... all the others Found Nothing..
It tanked my installation and had to reinstall... then when into the Standard shield and used the advanced tab to list the Program Files\Storagecraft\ location to not be scanned...

it seems to be working... for now

Hi...

That's cool! :)

I would still take Maxx_original's suggestion and e-mail him a copy so Alwil can check it out. If it is a FP, then they can include the correction on the next update.

Best Regards...

Wow... you guys are quick... my exclusion path did not work and it crashed the program's scheduled backup.
I disabled the access scanners for now...

I'll zip the file up and send it as you instructed.
Thanks for the help!!!! ;)

Hi...

That's weird  ???

Is it possible that more than one path is required here (another file being used in conjunction with the .exe) or is it the same one?

Best Regards...

The file was in \Program Files\Storagecraft\ShadowProtect
so I put C:\Program Files\Storagecraft

When the backup started... got the avast virus alert. I'd click "no action" and the backup would fail.

C:\Program Files\Storagecraft\ShadowProtect\*
