Email problems - Outlook Express

Since downloading avast-home my email using Outlook Express will not work.  I keep getting an error mesage. I'm presently using Windows XP.  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated !!!

What is the full error message ?

What is your firewall ?
Does it allow ashMaiSv.exe internet access ?
- If it does delete the entry for it and check for email, this will force the firewall to ask permission again.

Have (or did) you another AV installed in this system, if so what was it and how did you get rid of it ?
