Delete Error 0xC000003D{Data Late}
« on: October 06, 2008, 04:06:57 PM »
Received this error when trying a boot time scan on a system.  Avast home 4.8.  pressing 2 (delete all) and came up with above error.  Choose (i think 9) ignore (once) and did not come back.  Just curious what this means.  could not find on support forums or google for this exact error.

Just looking for some info on what avast means re this error.  ;D

Thanks!

Could not find support for it? Then you really have to learn how to google.

ADAP was unable to process a performance library because a function call took longer than 60 seconds to return. This is a non-fatal performance library error but other problems may also exist, such as missing performance counter classes in WMI

Ok thanks for the Reply Tech!

just want to make sure im on the right page.  This was an error during the avast boot scan, not a windows error (ie blue screen)  I was able to move on in the scan.  So Avast reports back an error that corresponds to windows errors and not its own?  that is really great.  another reason why this software is top on my list.

Sorry if I annoyed you for not googling correctly.  I was including the {data late} to which there is no refrence on windows site, so I agree I was not googling properly.  Thank you for pointing that out.

 :P

Oopss... sorry. I misunderstood.

So Avast reports back an error that corresponds to windows errors and not its own?
No, avast errors are avast errors, not Windows one.

Hmmm... I'm lost... there is no 0xC000003D error related to avast in Google ???
Not even in avast list errors...
Where are you seeing that error message? Can you post a screenshot?

im dont think i can post a screen shot.  It is during the avast boot time scan.

This is an error in the sense that on the avast scanning screen, it is prompting me to delete a file that it detected as virus related.  So i push the number 2 which is the option to delete all.  The screen comes back up with the same file except that instead of listing the file and what it is infected with, that line says "Delete Error 0xC000003D{Data Late}", as well as the 1-9 options.  I continued on by typing either 8 or 9, the one that indicates ignore just once, and the scan finished wihtout further incident.

I do not see this as a real problem as I have many tools/ways to delete files if necessary.  I have just never come across this particular one before and, like you Tech, couldn't find anything on it.

Subsequent boot scans run normally and this may be an anomaly, but was wondering what the message (maybe thats the right word, message not error) meant.

Again thanks for your help.

regards

Digital camera or mobile with camera (using a low resolution image) ???

That is how I capture stuff like BSODs (or info from the avast boot-time scan), easier than trying to frantically copy down the information.

It is during the avast boot time scan.
Is there any info on the boot-time scan report file? (Avast4\DATA\report\aswBoot.txt)

You're welcome, often the obvious is the last thing you think of.

I would say in the work that you do it would be an invaluable tool.
