slow internet
« on: May 05, 2004, 03:12:24 PM »
Since I have installed Avast Antivirus 4.1 when I go to a web page it takes such a long time to come up. I can no longer search using metacrawler.com when I type in a web page and press enter nothing happens.
What can I do?

ia mawitch - you did not give any imformation about your computer ... such as OS, firewall, IE version, etc.    :(

These things will help to give you a better answer to your problem.    :)

Hi, If you have a really slow connection 19.2k or 38.8k then it could be Avast.  If it's downloading a program update and your connection is a little limp,   data flow for other internet apps will slow to a crawl.  It could take quite a while for the download so you probably get sick of it within a few minutes and shut  it all down.  Am I close?

Check if it's performing a program update, otherwise it could be a LOT of things!  What processes do you have running?
