Hi Minacross,

The developer of the Fx extension has spelled his intention of making this available for IE as well at several occasions, but apparently there was no interest from the side of the IE developing team.
We also never saw an explanation why this essential security add-on never made it into Fx configuration by default (integral part of this browser). So we can come to the conclusion that it might be so that browser click stream trackers and users of scripts for profiling purposes can tip the balance against incorporating it, a plausible hunch, but plausible... That might also have been the reason behind Google launching its own browser (also to come in bundled versions for PC vendors), a browser where virtually no security or privacy add-on can be installed.
So the security implementation in browsers and third party functionality (sold as a benefit called user friendliness) are opposing objectives for the communities involved (security developers versus those parties that want to earn on the user click stream profile. For IE you can proxy it via Privoxy to get a filtering similar solution, toggling off or on scripts has not come to that flaw of browser yet, as far as I am aware of,

Use NoScript, a limited user account and a virtual machine and be safe(r)!
