Error message

I just purchased Avast! 4.8 Pro and during installation this message comes up...' there was an error while changing the product configuration '...and doesn't do anything else...any help??

What OS does your computer have?
What other av was on your computer before avast?
Have the other av been removed and if so, how was it removed?
What other security programs are on your computer?

I suggest an installation from the scratch:

1. Uninstall avast from Control Panel first.
2. Boot.
3. Download the latest version of Avast Uninstall and use it for complete uninstallation.
4. Boot.
5. Install again the latest avast! version.
6. Boot.
7. Insert your avast Pro key (http://www.avast.com/files/tutorials/insert_key.htm).
8. Check and post the results.
