Tried to uninstall AIM 6 and got: Win32:Trojan-gen {Other} notification

First question I have is how I got a virus if the Avast software is running?  Second, how can I delete the file and get rid of the virus? Avast seems to have no effect on it, cant sent it to the chest, cant delete it, nothing.  Help!

What was the name and location of the infected file ? May well be a false alarm

Really? It comes up only when I try to uninstall AIM 6

Someone else reported this some months ago.Try uninstalling in safe mode
