Error Message - License Key Invalid

I cannot activate my account.  It will not accept the license key.  I copied and paste it, and an error message stating that it is invalid.  What do I do to correct this problem?

Welcome to the avast forum,

May we know :
1. Have you installed avast 4 server correctly, like reboot needed after installation?
2. Do you purchase original license?
3. What is exactly error notification show at your system?

we are no psychics, we need more information then  "it doesnt work, how i fix it"   when you bring your car to the garage you dont say  "it doesnt work, fix it"  you tell them the breaks dont work, or the speedometer is not giving the right speed (if you see your speedometer on 200 miles per hour and you get passed by a granny with a walking-aid u can assume the meter is broken)......

so software problems are like car problems, without the actual error messages we cannot do too much
