Can't Delete Found Virus

I am Running Avast Home edition on Windows XP. During a routine scan It found the following virus Win32 Trojan-gen. {VC} in my shared folder.
I attempted to repair the file, no luck I then attempted to permentley delete the file and recieved the following error: This function is not supported on this system. I then attemted to move it in the chest, same message.

I am also running Norton Antivirus (which by the way didn't detect this) and the Avast is a trial, is that why it won't remove it? Any help?

the trial is FULLY functional. You need to boot in safe mode and try agian. (because the file is in use so it is locked)
