avast 5.0 free version question

I installed the 5.0 free version on Sunday, computer was acting up freezing, rundll error, 16-bit windows sub-system error Ntvdm AND ALSO PMREMIND.  So I ran the full computer scan last night, it detected 43 problems.  All say high severity.  Several say sy Trj some say Rtk some Adw some say Cryp.  Action says move to chest, is this what I should do to all of these?  I tried repair to all but each one said Error:  The file was not repaired.  I had an error C:....adobe\update\jbltcor.dat that was the rundll error so I said delete to that one and now 41 now say Action Successful to move to chest.  Was this correct to do and now will the computer run correctly or must I do something else?  I'm not very computer literate when it comes to problems.  Thanks.

Check your computer for Malware with

Malwarebytes Antimalware http://filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/
after install click UPDATE and run cuick scan, click on REMOVE SELECTED to quarantine anything found

Are cookies really spyware and are they dangerous?

Thanks for the help.  I'm at work now, but when I return home as this is my home computer that is the problem, I will check for Malware with what you suggested.  I have moved everything to "the chest", I did delete one file that was adobe/updater though because it was one that came up as a problem in the beginning.  Hope I didn't need that one.  I'll be back on the board later with my findings.  Thanks again.
