Well the first thing I would do is Close avast and then see if u can connect to the internet--if u were able to install Avast then u must have had an internet connection at that point The website has an uninstall utility if u are able to connect to the internet with Avast closed--I don't know which version u have but if it's 4.8 pro u can go to the icon in the tray and turn off from there and if Avast 5 pro u go Shield Controls from the icon and can turn off there
