Avast 5.0.545 UNSECURED
« on: August 13, 2010, 04:37:24 AM »
Yesterday my avast has started showing unsecured in the systray with the X on the avast icon, I've tried several times to update it but it just won't. Anyone have this problem or should I submit a tech support ticket to Avast for help?

Hi there,

Please read this article in the Knowledgebase and try the steps suggested. If that doesn't help, then try a repair of avast. (Go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, select avast Free/Pro/Internet Security, and in the Setup, click Repair, Next, and then reboot your computer to finish)

The first thing I would suggest is that you do a manual program update as the latest version is avast 5.0.594.

Then see if the problem is still present as there is little point in chasing a problem in an old version...
