Need some help
« on: March 30, 2010, 03:21:54 PM »
Client PC is getting failed update notices.  Cannot connect via the specified IP."Mirror server pseudo definition loaded as 'http://192.168.1.139:5033'."
I did not install on the client therefore have no idea where to change the ip address of the server it is looking for.  Running Avast 4 managed.  New to this software. Any help would be appreciated. Any more info you need I will gladly try to supply.

First off, you should be looking for the server that has the ADNM console installed.  That's the server the clients will be looking for when they go to update.

Secondly, the ADNM console has the tool to change IP address and ports for the clients.  When you change it there, you change it on all clients.

If you don't have the ADNM console installed anywhere, I suggest you do so.

Here's some more information:

Check out the ADNM's Admin guide.

Thanks scythe944.  Looked on every server in the office server room and even client's servers in the SAN room. Caqnnot find where he put the ADNM console.  Both of the clients (Mine *working* Co-Worker *not*)  are pointed to different ip's.  My e-mails as to where the managment console is have not been answered.  From the link you gave me though if it fails at updating from the main server it looks for a mirror, if it fails at that it looks to the internet.  The PC has access to the internet.  Unless I'm missing something.  His firewall is set to allow avast to communicate.  Without access to the console though all of this is just educational XP for me. Thanks again for the link.

Right click blue ball. Choose Program Settings>Update Connections>Proxy>Auto Detect.
