Personal Inspector exceptions for Avast ?
« on: July 29, 2010, 01:55:08 AM »
If someone could please help me I would be most greatful. I want to try out Personal Inspector for ther 21 day trial period. When I try to install it though, Avast pops up tell me I need to make this an exception but I don't know how.Currently Running Avast 5.9. I guess its so Avast won't recognize it as somesort of virus because of its key loggers programming. Well ,,hope someone can help me.

Hi,

Please try this:

Open avast
Click the Real time shields tab on the left
Click on File System Shield from the sub-menu
Click on Expert settings on the right of the screen
Click on Exclusions from the menu on the left of the window which appears
Add the location of the software you are installing there.
Click OK

This should exclude it from the avast real time scanners.  You may also need to add it to the main exclusions list in the settings menu to stop it being detected during scheduled scans.

Hope this helps,
Best,
Adam
