Avast Free-Mail Shield

Hi I am a new member and I have a problem with the Mail Shield in Avast I can not get it to (Turn On). I have uninstalled and installed again and I have run several scans all come up clean. Any help will be appreciated.

Sorry asyn My Avast is 5.0.677 XP SP3 and by client I hope you mean mail account??? if so it is Outlook Express.

Not sure if it will make any difference from uninstall/reinstall, but you may try avast! repair and reboot

For a repair of avast. Windows, Add Remove programs, select 'avast! Anti-Virus,' click the Change/Remove button from the pop-up window, scroll down to Repair, click next and follow.


OBS: i guess you have already removed any previous installed AV and used a removal tool to clean out any leftovers

Yes Pondus, I used the add/remove program to remove Avast

I will try your suggestion and get back to you

No Luck with the repair, system is still showing 'Not fully protected'
