StormShield Personal Edition
« on: March 09, 2011, 03:38:46 AM »
Anyone tried StormShield Personal Edition?

Shortly my subscription to Zemana will expire and I will switch to SpyShelter Free on XP.

Neither SpyShelter Free nor Zemana works on 64bit  systems,

but StormShield Personal Edition (free) offers limited protection on 64bit systems.

I'll stick with MBAM full and WinPatrol PLUS.

Drhayden1 you don't need threatfire because Avast behave the same way as the file system shield and beside the file system shield is way to update and more advance than threatfire, and is not a good idea to mix with threatfire and file system shield together they can conflict with each other and this discussion has already been post about threatfire and Avast file system shield IF I'm not mistaken.

StormShield primary function is buffer overflow prevention. However, if you have "Degraded protection" in the interface i don't think it's worth using it. Check if DEP is enabled everywhere, in BIOS, in WIndows and that CPU supports it. In my case on Aspire One i can't get it working because BIOS doesn't support it. Check that out and enable it fully.
