Script blocking
« on: November 21, 2004, 01:42:34 AM »
Ok I looked on search and could not find it
I installed firefox 1.0 and I love it.
I noticed one thing and i don't know if it is too fast that i can't see it.
I only have firefox 1.0 installed.
I did not install mozilla 1.7
Will Script blocker work with just fire fox alone?
My old IE when i started it, i always saw the script blocker come for a sec.
before my browser.
In firefox, when I start it up, I do not see it fire up like in IE (XP PRo).
I checked in the settings and all 3 are checked: IE-Netscape-Mozilla.
So why do i not see it, or is it so fast that i don't, and last but not least, it does not work for firefox 1.0 yet?
Help.

This has been discussed before, i will quote one of the Alwil Team for you:

"The ScriptBlocker does not support FireFox and there are no immediate plans to change this situation. We have spent nonzero effort trying to make it work back in 2003 when avast 4.0 was released but were pretty much unsuccessful.

Scripting in Firefox is implemented in a different way than in Mozilla itself."

However you can use a free scriptblocker if you want, i think it works for Firefox (don't use it myself), they are Script Sentry (http://www.jasons-toolbox.com/downloads/ScriptSentry.zip) or AnalogX Script Defender (http://www.analogx.com/files/sdefendi.exe)
