This may be a repost:   I ran a boot scan using ver 7.0.1426 trying to find the source of strange happenings.  While the scan was running, I had coffee, but checked in several times.  No virus was found, but several error messages and numbers about corrupt cab files.  I would like to check these errors, but now can't find find the info.  Does boot scan generate a log file?  I have done several searches and can't find anything.  Machine is using WinXP Pro svc pk 3.

hey the logs should be located in the scan results.

open up avast and then go to scan your computer, from there it should be a button scan logs i suggest you check there.

the files you spoke could be files avast was unable to scan because they are protected.

Whilst you can access scan logs from the avastUI, Scan Computer, Scan Logs, you have to have enabled the generation of a Report file in the settings of the scan you are doing, see image (click to expand).
