Avast 7.0.1407 Beta
« on: February 24, 2012, 09:20:15 PM »
It seems that Avast Version 7 was not ready to be released as a final version. Auto updates not working today and streaming updates are not functioning either. An update from someone on the Avast Team would be nice so we would know what was happening. I am starting to think about abandoning ship until this product is ready for prime time.

Auto updates have no trouble at all (virus definitions).
Streaming updates had a trouble for the server side but the infraestructure is being increased and corrected.
You can use it for safe (any new feature just add protection over version 6).

Sorry for the inconveniences though.

Thanks for the update. The only way I have been able to receive definition updates today is to update them manually.

Why? Please, upload (attach) the avast log:
C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast5\Setup\setup.log

If the file is too big for the forum, post the last 400-500 lines of it.

I had to copy and paste to notepad but here are the latest lines.

It was set at 60 minutes but I have reduced it to 30 minutes.

That is what I have but I got it manually. I appreciate your assistance and I will just keep an eye on it.

Unless you have avast Pro/AIS then the minimum update check interval is 120, if you set it below that the figure will be ignored and I assume the default 240 minute interval will be used.

Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.5.6116 (build 24.5.9153.762) UI 1.0.808/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

avast! 7 is NOT READY for paying business customers, NO WAY!

1) Go daddy email blocked, have to switch from port 80 to port 3535
2) Sites that require anti-virus are blocking systems with avast! 7 because they don't know what it is.
3) When in stalling avast! version 6, installer says "this version is outdated" and forces users to install 7 with no choice.

How do I stop this.  I am being overwealmed with tech support calls from paying customers.  We can't force paying customers to buggy products.  They will bail!  HELP!!!!

How do I install avast! 6 pro?  We really need to get our $h!+ together!  Customers are PISSED!!
Sincerely,
