Avast 7 prevents kernal 32 from loading on Home XP
« on: March 14, 2012, 10:31:31 AM »
I'm back again.  I heard a rumour that some of the bugs in Avast 7 had been worked out, so I decided to download a fresh copy to install on my Home XP SP2-3.
Next boot I started receiving the error message "Kernal 32 will not load".  My computer seems to be running but this error continued until I removed Avast 7 from my computer again.

By the way,  other symptoms of an Avast 7 install?  Mouse locking up,  slow performance,  general lockups, especially related to updating Avast on the web.   I have been seeing these happen on other people's computers with Avast 7. There seem to be some big compatibility problems with the Avast gui. They go away when Avast 7 is removed.  WIndows 7 seems to be faring better with Avast 7.

I hope that you can work these bugs out soon. Thanks for the forum.
