Safezone not working BSOD and error when started

Hi guys

I have been using Safezone for a few days now without issue (apart from not being able to print).

I decided to test the "Reset Safezone" option. I did the following:

1. I clicked "Reset Safezone".
2. I started Safezone via the right click of the Avast Icon.
3. BSOD.
4. PC rebooted.
5. Started Safezone. It started ok and I could see the correct grey background and the browser icon. The mouse was active.
6. I clicked the browser icon and nothing happened.
7. I exited Safezone and an application error message was displayed (see attachment).

I have rebooted a few times but Safezone still does not work!

Any ideas?

I am running XP, latest version of AIS etc.

You could try a repair of avast:
1. Control Panel -> Programs & Features -> avast!
2. Click on 'Repair'.
3. Follow instructions.
4. Reboot.

I couldn't ever get mine to work so i finally just uninstalled that part of avast.

I did a repair and rebooted but still get the error....very annoying!

Ok, first further informations from your system:
- Win XP 32bit or 64 bit?
- Which Service Pack?
- Any other security related software installed?
- Any other security related software installed before?

Windows XP 32 bit
Service Pack 3
Malwarebytes Pro.
Avast version 7.0.1426

Everything was working great with Safezone (apart from not being able to print) until I "Reset Safezone" and then all hell broke loose :)

Ok, thanks.
You could try a clean install of avast:
- download newest AIS: http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/avast_internet_security_setup.exe
- download the avast uninstall utility from here: http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility
- save your avast settings if wanted
- disconnect your internet
- uninstall AIS via Control Panel
- follow this instructions: http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (without step 1)
- install AIS
- reboot
- connect your internet
- check your Safezone
- when it's ok then load your saved settings if wanted
Please report back after.

please send me (kurtin at avast.com) your latest minidump file (=bsod report) from \Windows\minidump folder, thanks.

I have emailed the Minidump file and will not uninstall or reinstall anything just in case you want some more information for troubleshooting.
