Hi,

I'm trying to figure out how to delete this virus from my computer so I read the question from Jovy in this forum, & see that I should disable my system restore, but I don't know how to do that, and what should I do after I run system restore?  Avast is storing the file in the virus chest.  Should I dlete all those files permanently?  I have several in there.  By the way, I LOVE THIS AVAST ANTIVIRUS SOFTWARE!  Just wanted you to know.

You can also get information on system restore by opening the windows help file and search for system restore.

The file is safe in the chest but you can delete it if you wish.

When you disable sys restore, it deletes files withing the restore point files. Having disabled sys restore, reboot and scan again with avast and if clear enable sys restore.

I also have encountered this same trojan and I am having a heck of a time removing it. I'm running win2k pro on a p2 with 128 mb ram. how do I kill this thing?

You could start with a search of the forums for revop, there are lots of threads relating to revop.

You could try to follow it through and if you get in trouble, people will help. There is a wealth of information freely available on these forums.

System Restore, a Windows XP feature, is similar to the "Last Known Good Configuration" in Windows NT and Windows 2000. You can use System Restore to restore the computer to a previous state, using the backups that it makes of selected system files and program files. Unlike the "Last Known Good Configuration" feature, System Restore maintains multiple restore points. This gives you the choice of restoring your computer to any number of previously saved states.
