What files does it report as infected? What viruses?

Vlk,

I notice that Bryan was having problems running on win serv 2003 from an earlier post. Don't know if it's the same machine, but he seem to come back on any of the replies he got there. ?.

I also wonder if he has Avast and Norton running on the same machine ?.

Seems to me that most folk find Avast to pick up problems that Norton doesn't, and I'm happy with that  ;)

Bryan,

Thank you for sharing your comments, regardless of how hasty they may be.

In order for us to determine why this occurred, would you please let me know the names of the virii that Norton discovered.  They may only be variants of virii that Avast CAN detect.  Some virii may be false positives or virii that are no longer considered a threat by present standards.

I have Norton, McAfee, CAI, AVG, Panda and others......
but here I am using and DEFENDING AVAST.
There must be a reason...yes?

Please help us help you.  You will like us once you get to know us and AVAST!

Well Bryan986, I ran Nortons for years and dumped it recently for Avast because Avast found things which Norton never did. If you are not prepared to at least name the viruses you claim Avast missed, some of  us might be forced into thinking you work for Nortons.Having made your post you owe it to Avast users ebverywhere to follow through and provide the information you have been asked for. How about it?

win serv 2003 was a test, another reason why avast sucks

scanned my entire win xp pro system with avast, found NOTHING

REMOVED avast and installed norton

scanned entire system again, found 17 viruses pfft

avast is slow, lacking of features, and cant find shit for viruses

you guys who like avast, you are dumbshits, im sorry, but the truth hurts

your www.virus.gr rating actually decreased from nov2002 to may2003 HOW SAD

there are numerous better solutions than even norton, pitiful avast users

Bryan, you again  >:(
You seem to be at the wrong place. You just not help anything posting like these. Criticism is not a fair play. Please, if you does not like avast!, feel free to use anything else. But, do not try to persuade users to go back to Norton. Please, be positive, or stay with your 17 viruses and try to get some help from Symantec (if you can). Don't forget, you are at the best forum. This is not a Symantec forum!.

Sorry for my "angry". It´s not personal. If you had my troubles with NAV you could´t say anything different.  8)

Welcome back Bryan,

you are dumbshits, im sorry, but the truth hurts

Like an arrow through my heart.

I have to agree with you, I’m definitely a ‘d-s’ because I can’t quiet understand why the need for what appears to be animosity against Avast and it’s user’s… is there some point to all of this?

If you have a problem with Avast, which you would like to resolve or get answers to, why not elaborate on the details. Nobody is suggesting you change your opinion or preferences on any A-V solution, but we do possess the capabilities in this forum to discuss issues in a sensible manner.

Personally, I’m going to agree with you, whatever software/hardware solutions you have chosen must be the best available, so why don’t you just join in and enlighten us (well me anyway) on the detailed pros/cons.

Hurry back… best wishes,
Walker.

Lying brian?  ;D
Why do you want we believe in your 17 viruses?  :-*

avast is slow, lacking of features, and cant find shit for viruses

You cannot prove it. Do you have a computer?  :-*

but the truth hurts

The only truth you said  ;D

I don't think AVAST would (could) miss 17 virusses...

I can believe you have 17 infected files (from 1 virus).

It's possibel AVAST misses 1 (could be) but not 17, my man Bryan.

If AVAST would miss 17 different ones, it is indeed no good,... but avast has proven many times (in VB-tests) it detects 100 % of ITW virii.

You don't get these awards (ICSA + VB) if you fail to detect 17 virii.
