e-mail scanning
« on: May 25, 2003, 12:27:07 PM »
I installed avast v4 home edition and I use incredimail for my e-mails. I configured my ISP e-mail address to be scanned by avast all right but I got 2 other e-mail addresses (hotmail, yahoo) how do I set avast to scan these two e-mail addresses?

How are you viewing your Hotmail & Yahoo mail? If it's throught Incredimail then it might be possible to scan them. If you're viewing them through your web browser then it's NOT possible to scan them. I know that Yahoo scans all attachments with Norton but I have no idea about Hotmail.

I think Hotmail and Yahoo are not accesible via POP3 and thus cannot be scanned by avast.

I got Yahoo and Hotmail configured via POP3 with Incredimail.

So the configuration is the same as for your third account. I'd like to know POP3 servers for Yahoo and Hotmail.
