Latest 7.x update crashes Outlook 2000
« on: July 02, 2012, 01:09:31 AM »
The Outlook Addin DLLs cause Outlook 2000 to crash on exit on my machine. Disabling them (via the program OfficeIns) stops the crashes. Replacing the DLLs with the updated ones posted in another thread to fix the Calendar issue doesn't stop the crashes.

What functionality am I losing by disabling these add-ins? Is there a fix planned for the Outlook 2000 crash issue, or am I the first to report it? I realize this is an old version of Outlook, but it worked flawlessly until Avast! updated itself this morning.

If no fix is planned, is it possible to use the old versions of the DLLs, and if so where can I download them?

Thanks,
David

No, I have the same problem albeit with Outlook 2007. See my post below. I am awaiting a reply too.

Any idea what these plug-ins do? One purports to be a spam blocker, though it doesn't seem to have any effect. Not sure what the other does, but with both blocked, Avast still seems to be scanning my email messages.
