Hello all,

I got some questions about disappearing Additional Protection tab.
With Browser Protection and Remote Assistance (i.e. all "components") uninstalled, "Additional Protection" tab is gone, although there should be two entries left: Autosandbox and Site Blocking.
Especially, we cannot access Site-Block feature without this tab, so if you want to use site-block you have to install some of the components.

Hope this bug will get fixed till next program update.

welcome to the forum. i suggest you try a repair of avast.

start -control panel- add/ remove program. scroll down to avast. hit remove, then hit the repair.

if this does not solve the problem try a clean installation of avast.

good luck.

No, repair or reinstall does not solve this issue, Additional Protection tab is always gone with this settings.

NON,

I think the others were online too long when they responded.  ::)

Anyway, there is going to be a fix for glitches sometime next week for v. 7.0.1451 but I don't know if this is one of the fixes.  I'm going to send you a PM.

PM's a re fine for personal items. Anything related to help is better discussed in the open forum since it helps every one. :)

I don't mind the missing "Additional Protection" tab because I don't want to use any of them. Here's my suggestion for a fix. List all available  components including Autosandbox and Site Blocker under the components install box. Each user can then select which Additional Protection they want. If the user doesn't want any, then they can check the top box above the components list and the "Additional Protection" tab will not appear in the GUI.

I agree, but this was related to something for the Evang. that cannot be discussed in the open forum and was personal.  Thank you.  :)

@fragman: theres the custom install during installation of avast for u to opt-out anything which u would prefer not to have below the button of the express install.

those who do not know how to navigate there should just do an express install as they may exclude critical components for protection eg. file system shield

I always do custom installs on all software, and carefully read what I am clicking BEFORE I click to install anything.  We all learn the hard way! :P

I always do a custom install. Others have reported the missing Additional Protection tab. I created an image of my computer prior to the 1451 install just in case any serious problems arise.
