I'm running Windows XP home version. After installing Avast 4, when I logon I get an error message saying that ikernel.exe cannot be found. Any suggestions?

Hm, try uninstall and reinstall Avast. Ikernel.exe is a part of the installshild installer. Maybe there went something wrong while installing avast?

I doubt that will help, since avast doesn't use InstallShield. Besides, I don't know why an InstallShield kernel should be started on logon...

No, than that will not solve the problem, i think!
@Wombat
Do you allready make a scan with Avast and does it detect a Virus?
BTW: Are there any references in the Registry regarding to the ikernel.exe?
