Given the history of connection of Avast Customer Service - to crooked on line Service companies
A third party not doing their job as expected certainly doesn't make the company crooked nor does it reflect badly on Avast
since they severed that relationship once they discovered that the service was not up to par.

Also using Internet Security - and after definitions and Program update - no spam bar in Outlook 2007.   It is unclear whether Avast is working in Outlook - even tho there is no spam bar, etc.   Avast control center shows all shields active and full system is protected.   I have submitted an 'issue' to their E-mail customer service dept.   So far -(3 days) no response - or even acknowledgement of their recpt of my request for help.
This was posted and acknowledged since from the beginning of the 7.0.1456 version release.
They're working on it. Better is to keep the antispam disabled. The scanning works as it should on Outlook.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thank you, Avast Team:

There is comfort in knowing that the issue is being worked on.   Sometimes it is tempting to try various fixes and perhaps cause more problems -when - as in this case - problem appears widespread - and best course is wait for Team fix.

I am using Outlook 2010 and have the same issue around the AntiSpam plug-in and have had the following message from Avast Technical Support:

Hello,

I am sorry but at this moment we do not plan to create new AntiSpam toolbar for Outlook.

Best regards,

Jakub Vanous
AVAST Software a.s.

Which would indicate the Avast is not going to support the automatic removal of Spam mail any longer. Looks like I for one (after 4-5 years of happily using the product)  will be looking for a new Internet Antivirus/Firewall, etc. suite!

Hope this helps clear things up for users wondering what is going on!

I have the same issue and it sucks. My emails continue to be marked as ***SPAM*** or ***PHISHING*** but they all pile up in my Inbox with everything else!!  Plus, and this is the WORST thing, I can no longer use the Antispam bar to mark messages "whitelist" or "blacklist".  What is the point of having an antispam function that doesn't actually remove spam from the Inbox and also doesn't allow users to fine tune by marking messages the autofilter might have gotten wrong?  Jeez!!

In another thread I did go to my menu bar and look under: Tools > Trust Center > Add-ins.  I can SEE that avast! Antispam is listed under Inactive Application Add-ins -- but there's no way to enable or make it active again.

I'm with the rest of you.  So far I have really liked avast!  I even recommended it to others.  But the Antispam function is something that users actually TOUCH and USE, often and on a regular basis.  Screwing with that is like screwing your customers.  I will definitely be shopping for an alternative.  I only regret that my subscription runs through next June, although I could also jump ship now...  I am SUPER disappointed.  What were they thinking???
