Hi,
I am unable to change any setting in avast, after I change something and click ok the old setting is stil there.
The second issue is that I am not able to use any other language then Englisch, selecting an other language results in a error message and avast refusing to start.

Ok, I upgraded Fx to 14.x and now everything seems to work:

avast! Free Antivirus 7.0.1456
Windows 7 Home Premium x64 SP1
Online Armor Free 5.5.0.1616
Mozilla Firefox 14.0.1 - NoScript 2.4.8
Shockwave Flash Plugin 11.3.300.265
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\mms.cfg
added ProtectedMode=0

Even the bug I reported here seems to be gone...  ???

I just image restored my computer to June, 2012 before the new update to Avast. I prevented Avast from automatically installing the new update. My computer was having a minimum of 2 or more BSOD every day. So far it hasn't BSOD in over 10 hours. If my computer works fine  for at least 2 days, Then I know that it was the new Avast Update. All the BSOD was caused by different drivers which caused Windows system drivers to crash. Mainly to do with the Video and Memory. I will update this note if my computer works fine in a couple of days without BSOD's.

7/30/2012 - as of today I haven't any crashes in 4 days. I stopped Spybot Search & Destroy from scheduled scanning every day and ran Windows Memory tester all night. After that, whatever was causing my various crashes has stopped. I was and still am running various Avast scanning every night. I not sure if by having the memory ram tested stopped a glitch that form in the ram or it was Spybot and Avast clashing.

I have version 7.0.1456 installed on 6 personal computers and about 10 others at our Senior center. None of them have ever experienced a BSOD.
I suggest that some further investigation is required to find the actual cause of your problem.

I have 3 computers with  Internet security  I so far have 2 win dows 7 pro computers with 7.0.1456 and they have not done a proper update since 7-15-12 on one computer and 7-16-12 on the other. they try to update it comes back with already up to date and shows previous ver. and new ver. update  then when I click the ok button it shows the real updated ver. which is the old update. I've been using avast for a few years now. I've never had any real issues before. please help.

Try a repair of avast from Windows Control Panel. Don't forget to reboot after.

Hello,
Today, July 22, 2012 my avast went crazy, literally, he began to erase all my files on your computer, from scratch, even the ones I've used a lot of time and that has the greatest chance of being infected, I I had to disable it temporarily to not have major damage.

I'd like a solution as fast as possible economies, because I do not know what to do.

I live in Brazil and speak Portuguese, and do not speak or understand English, I made this text with the help of google translator.

Thank you for your attention and look forward answer as soon as possible.

Note: I've upgraded to the latest version 7.01456 and it's still deleting everything in sight, help.

Hi, I normally love Avast but since this update Firefox crashes on opening and IE won't open in the sandbox. Doesn't matter if I disable all addons. Everything was just fine until the update - nothing else changed. If I reboot with Firefox virtualisation setting off it helps. Even Chrome doesn't start properly - I have to double click, let it fail to load and then close it. Then when I open it works. Life was easier before the update for me.

I hope the feedback is useful.

Thank you

Any update from Avast when we can see a new version with the outlook addin working again?

I don't feel very safe running my computer with no email scanning.

If the outlook add/plug-in isn't working then as far as I'm aware the Mail Shield should take over the monitoring of your emails. Check the Real-Time Shields > Mail Shield, and you should be able to see if they are scanned. You can also check the email headers as avast records scans in the headers also.
