Continues to be the gal talking twice with the corresponding 'ding' each time and one pop up window. (consistantly) :-\ ;)

I just image restored my computer to June, 2012 before the new update to Avast. I prevented Avast from automatically installing the new update. My computer was having a minimum of 2 or more BSOD every day. So far it hasn't BSOD in over 10 hours. If my computer works fine  for at least 2 days, Then I know that it was the new Avast Update. All the BSOD was caused by different drivers which caused Windows system drivers to crash. Mainly to do with the Video and Memory. I will update this note if my computer works fine in a couple of days without BSOD's.
I have version 7.0.1456 installed on 6 personal computers and about 10 others at our Senior center. None of them have ever experienced a BSOD.
I suggest that some further investigation is required to find the actual cause of your problem.

I updated my findings this morning. Thanks for your reply.

There is no point posting this in the avast for windows versions forum, the same as your other topic also in the windows version forum not avast! for Mac.

While I agree that he should have found the "Avast for Mac" forum, please cut him just a little slack.  There's nothing in this forum's name or its description to indicate that it's specifically for the Win version, which omission perhaps could be fixed by whoever.

The problem being those who are likely to be of any help to him are those visiting the avast for mac forum.

Did Avast recently make it so virus definition updates don't show up in "Show Last Popup Message" context menu?

The VPS update popup shows when "Show Last Popup Message" is selected here, for VPS 120802-0.

If you've logged off, then it will be greyed out.  It only persists if the notification occurred during the current log-in session.  I have my machine set to require log-in again if the screen saver comes up based on time.  I don't think it's there when I return then.  I'll check that out later.

I can confirm that. Once you reboot, there is no information to display hence, it's grayed out till it receives new information.

I did not log off. As a matter of fact, I checked just a few minutes after the virus database message had popped up with the two times voice message.

@ Bob3160
Currently the "Show last popup message" is greyed out after an auto update notification and it doesn't matter if you have not rebooted, I haven't and it is greyed out.

This is I believe unrelated to the program version, but more related to the other auto update issues with the double update notification and the double height Dual ad_notification toaster pop-up.
