Well I didn't have the dual ad/update notification this morning just the standard update notification and the "Show last popup message" option after updating was active and not grey as before.

Same here just the dual audio message

Same issue here. Double sound issue and greyed out show last popup issue as well.

I was just wondering if anyone could confirm that the newest updates had taken care of the issues with games being auto-sandboxed in steam?  I have my AS set to ask but when I've ran games I no longer seem to be prompted by auto-sandbox.

With 1456 I can't run a manual scan.  The Scan Computer/Scan Now tab is nearly empty - it only has the top title section of the tab and doesn't show any of the controls or text or graphics.

Try a repair of avast:
XP - Add Remove programs, select 'avast! Anti-Virus,' click the Change/Remove button and select Repair, click next and follow.

Vista, win7 - Control Panel, Programs & Features, uninstall a program, select 'avast! Anti-Virus,' click the Uninstall/Change and select Repair, click next and follow.

You may need to reboot after the repair.

Thank you for the suggestion - I tried the Repair tool, rebooted, no joy.  Tried again, same result.  Will probably try uninstall and reinstall when I have some time.

This is something like the third time this year I've had to uninstall Avast.  It's getting old.

OK I think I've fixed it.  (knock on wood.)  I downloaded AWSCLEAR.EXE and the latest download package for free Avast.

Rebooted to safe-mode, then ran AWSCLEAR.EXE to remove Avast.  I rebooted as normal, then rebooted to safe mode again and ran AWSCLEAR a second time (just for good measure.)  Then rebooted to normal and installed the latest download.  The Scan tab appears to be  back to normal.  Reboot again for good measure and Scan tab is still OK.  Yay!

This is on a Win 7 64b, AMD 965 quad,  8gb system.  Hopefully all is good now.  Thanks!

Is my Behavior Shield acting weird, it doesn't seem to be scanning very much, I'm not sure how it should work.  Like it only seems to scan programs when I start them, but only the first time the program starts it seems.  Like I said I'm not too sure how it's supposed to work.

If you want a Pro license then you have to renew/purchase your license through the avastUI, Maintenance, Subscription section.
