I finally did my program update and like many I too gotten the double talking. It really, for me, wasn't a major issue just basically saying wake up silly I said your update is updated.  :P Also as I never really thought about the show last pop up message until reading this thread. Yes mine just updated and I looked and it to is grayed out and I don't know why as I did not reboot or logged out. I wish I would have checked that the day I updated the version to see.

The double talking has stopped but this was right after I decided to check the box that I finally notice for those ads that comes up with the updates. So I do not know if it's the ad section that is making the voice say it double or not as the last version there wasn't an issue with the pop up ads before. Somebody else would have to try it to see if they got the same results.

Unfortunately that caused me another issues with the virus definition update pop up window. It has become extremely small. Smaller then small with my computer settings, and the part that is green and the part that is dark gray now doesn't actually butt up together. There is a huge gap between the two. I will try to get a screen shot the next time I get an update to show.

Wondering if I reset to the default factory settings if that would then put the popup window back to normal sizing. Any thoughts on that matter? I wouldn't mind it either if those ads popped up. I will take having my right side of my screen covered up then to have the pop up window being extremely small.

Thanks for any help.

For your sake, I hope MSE isn't your downfall since only one AV should be installed on a computer.
Not that daft. Avast on desktop, MSE on laptop.
Hi spokes,

You might want to rethink MSE after reading this pdf from NSS Labs here:  http://www.nsslabs.com/reports/analysis-brief-can-consumer-av-products-protect-against-critical-microsoft-vulnerabilities  Go to page six to see how this may be relevant to you in the scenario tested.  Entire pdf article is informative in any case.  You can safely click the link to download the pdf.
