French speaking "download area" (01net.com) not trustworthy!!!

I am here in french speaking part of switzerland and have to install a new WinXP on an older PC (P4). But when downloading latest avast, I got into several very strange problems. I have to mention that with system settings in french language, you are guided to www.01net.com/editeur/Alwill/Avast/ (you see the 2x l of Alwil?).

Yesterday I downloaded the installer from there and put it onto an USB-stick. Inserting the USB-stick to a PC with Agnitum Outpost Security it reported me that the downloaded avast-installer would be a fake-antivirus-programme. Today, I tried again, again same website from, and the download of an installer some 71MB in size starts, but the MSIE8 suddenly crashes while downloading, and no download is done. That machine does not have yet any AV-software on, so it can't be that any AV would intercept download. I now have downloaded AVAST-7.0.1451-Installer with PC that has german system and swiss-german language settings. Then the download is done by softonic, but the size of the file is some 89MB.

I'll copy that now to the new PC by USB-stick and install it there ...

Please have a look what's going for french speaking users!

Because it's an old version: 7.1426, so that's why it's 71 mb.

Doesn't it exist on Avast website a place to download older version (for example 7.0.1426)?

Avast Free 7.0.1426 is available.  http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/setup_av_free.exe.

However, Avast Free 7.0.1456 is running fine here with no issues.
