1456 is the worst
« on: July 04, 2012, 06:11:00 PM »
First, something broke with the update from prior versions.
Don't know what, had to install it to get the p2p and filesystemshield running again.

Well, now it keeps popping up request to restart the system for no apparent reason.
got me booted out of several programs already since windows7 lost the ID handle on those (fullscren) applications thanks to said popup.
(the exe was still running, had me logged in and killed several times as i clicked and acticated the desktop DESPITE being fullscren again)

Just what the frag is wrong with you and avast all of a sudden?!

welcome to the forum. i sounds like a it could be a corrupted installation of the new program update. i would suggest you try a clean installation of avast and see if that could work.

good luck.

Of course, I did that. Twice. Even restarted before installing anew.

I'm not sure I follow... the problem is that avast keep you asking for a reboot, correct?

In that case, it would be helpful if you posted the last few hundred lines of the file C:\Program Files\Avast Software\Avast\Setup\setup.log
(it contains some personal information such as the name of your computer, so if you don't feel like posting this info to a public forum you can either edit it before sending, or send it to me via a private message).

Thanks
Vlk
