Yes you can, then you can use the https://myavast.com avast account to monitor the installation remotely. Presumably you already have setup the my.avast.com account.

No, but have now........... so the advantages of an account are mainly if 'Avast' is on more than one PC? Any other advantages?

Also is there somewhere on my profile, that lets me receive notification of a thread reply?

Thx for your quick reply

You're welcome.

They are also working on linking the avast! Mobile Security suite into the avast account to give web control in the event of lost phone, etc. So if you have an android phone this can be very handy.

I'm sure they are thinking of other ways to use the avast account, me I would have thought there would be a chance of coordinating all registrations to the same date and one renewal would cover all devices. For me that seems logical but is probably wish list, rather than firm possibility.

I thought that the notifications to topics that you either create or contribute to get a notification by default. I don't use that feature though, it is here    Profile » Notifications section, there are restrictions in the profile area until a newbie has 20 posts (anti-spam measures), e.g. no longer a newbie. I don't know if you can access that area, but you can check.

I use the "Show new replies to your posts." link at the top of every page when I log on to the forums. You can also use the Notify button at the bottom of every topic, click that and you should get it, if you can't access the Profile » Notifications section.

No key is needed, just fill in the registration screen after installing and it's done :)
