# of Devices
« on: July 16, 2012, 04:32:06 PM »
There are very few items about Avast! that make me utterly frustrated, and the one I write about today is finding and editing wrong or outdated information about my devices on Avast!'s database. I wish to add a laptop and edit the version numbers in the database. Two of my desktops are off so the security status is correct when it reflects OFF, but my laptop is ON and it does not appear in the list of devices.

Perhaps to obvious a question - Have you linked it to your account in your laptops avast settings ?

Whilst I don't believe it makes a difference, how do you connect (independently via wifi through router, etc.) when the desktops are off ?

Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.2.6105 (build 24.2.8918.824) UI 1.0.799/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

Yes, my router has WiFi and I connect two laptops directly to the internet through the router. The desktops do not have anything to do with connectivity.

By opening the avastUI, Secured tab and look for the link to connect, where mine is connected, I believe it is the same position in the Summary screen as my image where you would get a Not connected and a link to Connect.

See the first image http://www.softpedia.com/progScreenshots/Avast-Internet-Security-Screenshot-145381.html it shows the Summary screen (replicated below) and a host of other useful avast screenshots, well worth bookmarking.

I am already connected, but as I said at the beginning, the my.avast.com details are incorrect because it shows only my two desktops and not my laptop. My initial question remains unanswered.

Unfortunately I can't answer that which is why I was asking the questions trying to find if there might be any reason why it wouldn't be being detected.

I have A XP Pro PC directly connected to my router and a win7 netbook connected to the router by wifi and both are detected.
